As we wave goodbye to 2021, The Web Orchard look back on the challenges and successes of the year.

February: A rather damp start

The Pump House flooded Feb 2021

As many will have seen in the news, 2021 started with quite a washout – literally. Flooding returned to Shrewsbury and our offices were also affected. The benefit remote working meant we could continue working as normal with minimal disruption and our clients continued to receive our full level of service.

May: The Movement Centre

We are proud to have supported The Movement Centre for a second year. Through free hosting and website support, the partnership has enabled the Shropshire-based charity to continue its work in an online space at a time where online outreach is more important than ever.

The website allows the charity to continue to reach out to its supporters, the children and families it supports and valuable information for those who may also benefit from its dedicated work providing Targeted Training therapy.

See below a video on the amazing work The Movement Centre do created by our client partners, 7video.

July: A summer to remember

Information Solutions has helped many businesses adapt to a more hybrid working structure – including us! The IT support solution not only helps keeps business moving but supports the need for a change of scenery. With a scorcher of a summer this year, here’s Pete demonstrating the benefits of adaptive ways of working. (Though maybe a little too high a risk of water damage).

September: Taking a virtual look at the Midlands

The Web Orchard continues to be an active member of Centre for the New Midlands. The collaborative think tank actively seeks new ideas to help the region particularly at some of the areas biggest social and economic challenges. The first in-person event took place in August but brought a new digital twist with a virtual look at how the Midlands could look in the near future with Kagool.

September: PodAid

Supporting its launch year, The Web Orchard was proud to be involved with Pod Aid. The 24-hour charity podcast stream took place on 29 September in support of Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. Bringing together members of The Shrewsbury Biscuit Podcast, USUK Network and a range of special guests, the event was the first of its kind and is set to continue as a successful annual event with a new nominated charity each year.

Client Success

As well as achievements outside the office in 2021, we’ve also celebrated one our busiest years yet.

Working with local and international clients across a range of industries, it’s been a bumper year for The Web Orchard launching a range of platforms and digital marketing solutions, achieving continued success for our clients.

Here is a look at just some of the projects from 2021:

Barlows EV Website

Barlows EV is a specialist provider of Domestic and Commercial Electric Car Charging solutions, helping people and businesses make the switch to cleaner energy, whilst sustaining the environment. In 2021, we developed their website platform to aid reach to customers and contractors and support the growing demand as many continue to the switch to electric vehicles.

Pasturetec

Pasturetec are an independent agricultural business with a product range focusing on the livestock sector. Specialising in livestock performance and Agri Tech products, including weighing equipment, EID readers and integrations into 3rd party software. Following their launch in January, Pasturetec needed a quick way to market and approached us for assistance with their digital presence. Our work supported a fully omnichannel approach leading to the opening of their first shop in June and continues to grow.

Marmalade website on tablet

Marmalade at Dogpole launched in 2020 bringing unique, creative and colourful interior design products to the heart of Shrewsbury by small artisans from across the UK and Denmark. Their website provides a digital solution as a virtual window to their store enabling customers to discover both their store and their collections to drive footfall and sales.

Shrewsbury Town Council

Following a robust selection process, The Web Orchard were successfully chosen to re-design the Shrewsbury Town Council website. Our work enabled the website to be much more responsive and simpler to use both by all users, on any device. The result has ensured much easier to share and access to information to those in the area and beyond.

Sirane website on a computer screen

Leading packaging development to manufacturers in Europe, Sirane needed a website to reflect their full service approach in a dynamic, responsive way. Showcasing their wide range of products and services, and support its global audience, the end result has enabled a strong performing platform for international markets.
