We care

Sustainability is at the core of what we do.

Our hosting is provided by two specialist hosting partners, both of whom publish strong environmental commitments. One already runs its hosting on 100% renewable energy, operates data centres with an industry-leading Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) rating, and has its sites independently verified against the Green Web Foundation’s sustainability checks.

The other has committed to powering its entire global platform with 100% renewable energy and reaching net-zero emissions by 2030, is independently certified to the ISO 14001 environmental management standard, and recycles 100% of its e-waste.

Together, that means the servers behind our clients’ websites are hosted responsibly today, with further improvements already committed for the years ahead.

Beyond hosting

We aim to keep the carbon footprint of every project as low as we reasonably can. Wherever a client isn’t local, we default to video calls rather than driving to site visits, and our proposals, contracts and invoicing are handled digitally rather than on paper.

The websites we build are optimised for performance as well as sustainability – smaller, well-compressed images and efficient code mean less energy is used every time a page loads, which adds up at scale. You can check the green credentials of any site’s hosting, including our own, using the Green Web Foundation’s checker.

Our office runs on LED lighting throughout and we try to work as close to paper-free as possible, alongside a recycling system for general waste and IT equipment when it reaches end of life. Increasingly we look for environmental credentials when choosing our own suppliers too.

As a marketing agency, we’re also well placed to help clients reduce their own paper waste, encouraging digital marketing over printed materials where it makes sense for their business.

We back environmental causes directly as well, including Friends of the Earth – see more of the organisations and causes we support on our Community page.
