Shrewsbury Drapers

Shrewsbury Drapers Company is a long-established Guild which was granted a royal charter in 1462 and was historically responsible for the importation of unfinished Welsh cloth into England. The Guild has been running almshouses continuously since 1444.

To improve their online presence, Shrewsbury Drapers appointed The Web Orchard to bring a new approach for their website creating a space to share their wealth of history, ongoing work as an active voluntary organisation in the wider Shrewsbury community and easy access for their range of occupiers, members and supporters. The design reflects the history of the guild using the established colour palette from the coat of arms as inspiration. Alongside the website development, further enhancement of Shrewsbury Drapers digital tools has been achieved through our sister company, Information Solutions providing extensive IT support and provision.
